"From the organically farmed (in conversion with Ecocert) vineyards of Domaine Pierre Richard in the Cotes du Jura, this wine is made from 100% estate grown Poulsard. Vine age ranges from 15 to 30 years, planted to clay/limestone soils. Located at 300 meters above sea level with Southwest exposure. Fruit is picked at the end of August and the beginning of September before heading to the cellar. Fermentation is done with ambient yeasts. A month and a half of maceration in stainless steel tanks. Aged 5 months in stainless before being bottled with zero added sulfur. This wine has such a gorgeous color in the glass, showing a clear hue of vibrant mahogany. The nose of this Poulsard is more fragrant and layered than the Trousseau, with a depth of salinity combined with the plush red fruits and healthy, dark roses. On the palate, the wine delivers plummy stone fruit, black cherry, and crushed dark stones. A fine weight on the palate, with medium tannin and medium acidity. A great wine, with supple texture and deep flavors lifted by lean minerality." - David Hatzopoulos
