The Domain: Château Les Hautes Tuileries is made from the old vines of Château les Hauts Conseillants which are located on the plateau of Chevrol in the district of Néac, outside of Libourne. The vines are between 35 and 50+ years old, spanning 10 hectares of Pomerol land.
The grapes are picked by hand at peak ripeness, and harvesting is done parcel by parcel according to grape varietals. There is a strict selection of the berries in the vineyard and at the winery: they only keep the ripest berries of each type and allow them to macerate for 4 to 5 weeks. After maceration and racking, a selection of the vats is done in collaboration with Jean Philippe Fort of Michel Rolland’s team.
